Amateur Radio Examinations

Test for a new amateur radio license or an upgrade with our experienced and friendly ARRL certified examiners. The volunteer examiner (VE) team is sponsored by the City of Bloomington, Police Department, Emergency Management Division and the Bloomington Communications Group.

Examination Schedule:  This exam is being conducted at the Bloomington Police Department on Saturday March  27, 2010 at 1800 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, Minnesota. Exam session will take place ion the 4th Saturday of the month in January through May and again in September and October.  

 


Session Information: Pre-registrations for FCC exams are requested for the exam session. You can register by calling Dan Royer at 952-888-9756 or send an e-mail to KE0OR@arrl.net .

 

What you will need at the test session. Anyone taking an exam or submitting paperwork for a license will be required to present an official photo ID or a Lead examiner, Dan Royer, explains procedure to a candidate that will soon earn her Technician License.birth certificate. If you are upgrading your license, you will need to submit a copy of your existing license and, if applicable,  submit one copy of any element credit certificate that applies towards your new license. Please make your copies before coming to the test session. The examination session fee is $15.00 and all fees are forwarded to the ARRL.  If possible, a check made out to the ARRL-VEC or correct change is appreciated. You will also need a pen and pencil and may bring a calculator. Calculators may not be programmed for solving exam questions and are subject to examination by our VE team. All other materials including paper for calculations will be provided at the session.
